Amelia grew up in Kearney, Missouri, the oldest of four in a loud, opinionated, and very loving family. Imagination was encouraged, knowledge was to be treasured, and music was food for the soul. Her parents taught her to work for what she wanted so when at the age of 14, she wanted to go on a school trip to Costa Rica, she got her first job, and she hasn’t stopped working since. Her upbringing also instilled in her a strong faith that led her to the mission field many times during her youth. It was shortly after she returned home from one of these mission trips that she reconnected with a friend from high school. They’ve now been married for eleven years and have two rambunctious sons who are fast growing into capable young men. The family loves to spend time outdoors together, especially on the water. Lazy mornings reading or fishing on the beach, casting anchor for a little deep water swimming in the heat of the day, and watching the sunset over the water. After all that excitement, they like to unwind around the campfire with some hotdogs and smores. Amelia spent much of her teens and early 20’s working in the childcare industry, most likely where she developed her negotiation skills :). Since childhood, Amelia has had an eye for puzzles and numbers. She applied this eye in high school as a legal assistant, discovering that she enjoyed the order and rhythm of clerical work, as well as getting to help real people find solutions to their real world issues. As she grew into a young woman, she began turning her eye to things of the home as well. Every time she enters a new space, her mind is drawn to examine it. Are the finishes up to date? Is the space functioning well? Has it been well cared for? Is there room within the structure, and the budget, to improve the form and function? Her imagination allows her to see the potential where others may not, and enables her to be a creative problem solver. Couple this unique interest with her love for helping others, and real estate seemed a perfect fit! Looking to the future, Amelia and her husband hope to use her real estate business as a vehicle toward investment property of their own, and if she has anything to say about it, retirement on a beach somewhere.
